1 Where is my data stored?

All your data is stored locally on your device, encrypted with AES-256. We don't have servers or cloud storage — your health records never leave your phone unless you explicitly export them.

2 What if I lose my phone?

If you lose your phone and don't have a backup, your data will be lost. This is why we strongly recommend creating regular encrypted backups. Your data on the lost device remains encrypted and protected by your PIN.

3 How do I transfer to a new phone?

Create an encrypted backup on your old phone, transfer the backup file to your new phone (via email, cloud storage, or direct transfer), then restore the backup in the new Karnet Vault installation.

4 Can I use it for my children?

Yes! Karnet Vault supports adding dependents (children or other family members). Each dependent's records are stored with the same encryption and privacy protections as your own.

5 How do I delete my data?

You can delete individual records within the app, or uninstall the app to remove all data from your device. Since we don't store anything on servers, there's no server-side data to worry about.

6 Is my data encrypted?

Yes, all data is encrypted using AES-256. Your encryption keys are stored in your device's secure enclave or keystore, protected by hardware security. Data is encrypted at rest and only decrypted when you authenticate.

7 What if I forget my PIN?

For security reasons, there is no PIN recovery option — we don't have access to your PIN or data. If you forget your PIN and don't have biometric auth enabled, you'll need to reinstall the app and restore from a backup.
